Product Applications: Raw material for chemical analysis reagents. Kojic acid has many uses, such as serving as a raw material for producing food flavor enhancers like maltol and ethyl maltol; as an intermediate in the production of cephalosporin antibiotics; as a pesticide that is non-toxic and environmentally safe for humans and livestock; as a foliar fertilizer for crops; and as an iron analysis reagent and film spot remover. However, its most popular and promising applications currently lie in cosmetics and food.

3. Kojic acid and its derivatives are used as whitening agents that inhibit the production of melanin in human skin (tyrosinase inhibitors). They are used in the production of cosmetics, bath products, and toothpaste, effectively treating freckles, age spots, pigmentation, acne, etc., with safety and no side effects. Some manufacturers have already started producing whitening cosmetics containing kojic acid.
4. Kojic acid has a wide range of applications in food additives. Previously, due to its antioxidant properties, it was used to prevent rancidity in oils.
